Food Festival balloons from balloon race cross the Channel

The Balloon Race run by Between The Lines during the 2011 Godalming Food Festival was a great success with some balloons crossing the Channel.

The winner reached Chaumont sur Tharonne, which is south of Orleans in France (approximately 420 miles by road but more likely 375 by balloon 'as the crow flies').  It was one of three which made it across the Channel, the other two reached Jouy le Potier and Saint Vigor, Normandie.  Of the remaining ones one reached Shoreham by Sea and another Wiston in West Sussex and the last three were found locally.  

It was a fun day helped enormously by the weather and Between The Lines have said they will definitely be repeating the balloon race next year.
