The 2011 Godalming Food Festival
Saturday 2 July, 10am-4pm
What an amazing day! The 2011 Godalming Food Festival was a great event with glorious sunshine and fantastic food delights served up by market stallholders, shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs alike.
Our talented performers at the Pepperpot Stage and busking spots throughout the town kept everyone entertained. And the children had a great time in the Kids' Corner - thanks to the various local businesses who put on and sponsored special activities.
A big thank you to Waitrose and The Surrey Advertiser for their sponsorship this year and to Waverley Borough Council Godalming Together, Surrey County Council and Godalming Town Council and for their invaluable support of this event. Thank you also to all the local businesses, organisations, performers and volunteers who made the day such as a success. There was a wonderful party atmosphere throughout Godalming Town Centre.
Congratulations to Rosemary's Florist whose amazing efforts rightly won the Festival's 'Best Dressed Shop Window Competition'. Congratulations too to Andrew Charles Meatmaster for ensuring the Godalming sausage beat Waitrose in the 'Sausage-Off'! Thank you so much Waitrose for putting up such fierce competition.
